If it is necessary to delay the publication of research results due to pending publication or patent application, authors may impose an embargo for a period of up to 2 years. For more detailed information, please refer to the Policy. Students must discuss and obtain preliminary approval from their supervisors by completing a request form before imposing an embargo or seeking exemption from submitting their theses. Faculty and staff whose works qualify for acceptable reasons for embargo establishment or exemption from deposition may do so and are not required to seek approval.
Embargo Establishment Procedure
To impose an embargo on your work, you need to send an email to repository.sdu.edu.kz. You will need to fill out a request form. Your supervisor will receive a notification via email about the approval/disapproval of the request. Please also inform your supervisor about the approval. Once your supervisor approves the request, the library will process your request within 3 working days. The library will send you an email confirmation.
After the embargo period expires, open access to the document will be automatically granted.
