By visiting this reading room, you will be able to get:
 - open access to books and other library materials; 
 - consultations with librarians on finding the books you are interested in; 
 - quiet and comfortable places to study and work;
 - access to public computers.


The reading rooms are designed as large self-service areas with full access, designed for individual study. These common areas include open shelves providing free access to most of our collections.

 

Policy

  • The use of the rooms must comply with the Library Use Policy.

  • Rooms are available on Monday - Friday from 9:00 - 21:00, Saturday 09:00 - 18:00 .

  • Groups are encouraged to be considerate towards people nearby; keep conversations at a reasonable volume.

  • Use headphones when listening to music or watching videos.

  • Put your cell phone on vibrate. 

  • Clear belongings from the space, making them available to use when leaving a seat for more than one hour. Do not leave belongings to reserve a study space.

  • Snacks and covered drinks are allowed.

  • Leave the space tidy when you go, materials and personal items left unattended may be removed by library staff.

  • The Library accepts no responsibility for the loss of personal items.

SDU Library offers computing services with licensed hardware and software for students, faculty and staff use.

There are  24 desktop computers. All of the computers are of general access and publicly available.

Access to computers is provided during regular hours.

Computers Use Policy

  • The use of the computers must comply with the Library Use Policy.

  • The sessions are not limited in time unless 20 minutes of non-use and the computer will be automatically switched off.

  • To save your work you should bring a USB drive or upload it to a web storage service such as Google Drive. All personal information and working documents are cleared from the desktop and Download folder after the session ends.

  • Users may not modify computer or Internet settings, load programs, or run unapproved software.

  • The library is not responsible for damage to disks, or loss of data that may occur from the library’s computers.

Individual Study Place

SDU Library provides 193 individual study places for students which are located on the Ground floor of the library. 
The place is intended for Students and Researchers who need a quiet place to study.
