By visiting this reading room, you will be able to get:
 - open access to books and other library materials; 
 - consultations with librarians on finding the books you are interested in; 
 - quiet and comfortable places to study and work;
 - access to special rooms for group projects.


The reading rooms are designed as large self-service areas with full access, designed for individual study. These common areas include open shelves providing free access to most of our collections.

 

Policy

  • The use of the rooms must comply with the Library Use Policy.

  • Rooms are available on Monday - Friday from 9:00 - 21:00, Saturday 09:00 - 18:00 .

  • Groups are encouraged to be considerate towards people nearby; keep conversations at a reasonable volume.

  •  Use headphones when listening to music or watching videos.

  • Put your cell phone on vibrate. 

  • Clear belongings from the space, making them available to use when leaving a seat for more than one hour. Do not leave belongings to reserve a study space.

  • Snacks and covered drinks are allowed.

  • Leave the space tidy when you go, materials and personal items left unattended may be removed by library staff.

  • The Library accepts no responsibility for the loss of personal items.

  • The library reserves the right to revoke permission to use the room in the case of non-compliance with these policies.

  • Problems, concerns, or policy violations may be reported to the Library front desk.

Conference Room

Conference Room

The conference room is offered for hosting conferences and public lectures with simultaneous interpretation for up to 15 participants.

Policy

  • Rooms are available for meetings and seminars. Library-related meetings are given priority use of the rooms.

  • Rooms are available on Monday-Friday from 9:00 - 21:00, and Saturday from 9:00 - 18:00.

  • The rooms are locked with keys available upon request at the Circulation Desk 

  • Do not leave the room unlocked or unattended at any time.

  • Upon the completion of the meeting turn off all lights and the projector, if applicable, before leaving the room.

  • Materials and personal items left unattended may be removed by library staff.

  • No food is allowed in the rooms.

  • Rooms should be left in a clean and orderly condition, ready for the next users.

  • The library reserves the right to revoke permission to use the room in the case of non-compliance with these policies

The Library collection keeps growing, and every month we present a shelf of new books available on loan. Moreover, we publish the list of new literature on our library website

Group Study Rooms

 

Group Study Rooms

The Library has Group Study Rooms for up to six persons. Rooms are located on the 1 floor of the new library.

Policy

  • Group study rooms are not for use as individual study areas.  Rooms may be booked for research project work.

  • Rooms are available on Monday-Friday from 9:00 - 21:00, and Saturday from 9:00 - 18:00.

Literature for Kids

Literature for Kids

The library catalog also contains literature for children (from 3 to 14 years old). This area is a place of development and entertainment for the children of our library users. The books are available in English, Kazakh, and Russian languages.
